Innovative Bucks County Manufacturer Wins Early Patent Grant

IP Works helped an innovative manufacturer in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, obtain a U.S. Utility Patent just 6 months after their patent application was filed. We took the time to learn their goals for the project, discovering what they really needed instead of making assumptions. As a result, after discussing pros and cons of a variety of options, we were able to put together a customized patent strategy to protect their invention. Using our strategy, they were able to achieve an early patent grant without limiting their ability to expand patent coverage in the future. They received their U.S. Patent in...

Registration of copyright is now required for copyright enforcement. Yet, for many small business creators, the cost to register their original works one at a time is prohibitive, leaving them at the mercy of infringers. The GRTX group registration option saves creators thousands of dollars in government filing fees by allowing them to register certain short works in groups of up to 30 works rather than...

Foes Become Allies, Ending Bitter Dispute Over Beer Trademarks

IP Works helped a mid-Atlantic beer brand end a bitter, drawn-out dispute over their right to use and register their trademark. Through tough advocacy, perseverance and deep knowledge of trademark law, along with empathy and compassion, we helped our client persuade his opponent to stop fighting and join forces. These former foes now are fast friends, working together to promote our clients’ beer, launch new products under the same brand and make money – together.

By resolving the case within the first 3 months, they were able to get back to growing their business and serving their customers.
